Ybor City streetcar- The region’s recorded history is some of the oldest in the nation, including more than 450 years.
- Ybor City, a National Historic Landmark District, was once called the “Cigar Capital of the World.” Italian, Cuban, Spanish, and German immigrants hand-rolled 700 million cigars per year at its peak.
- Other National Historic Landmarks in the area include the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel and the Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. Tampa Theatre, an elaborate “movie palace” built in 1926, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
