About
Indiana
Indiana is near the Great Lakes in the northern United States. The state is bordered by Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky. The northwest corner of the state also borders Lake Michigan and provides easy access to the other Great Lakes. In the southern half of the state, Hoosier National Forest and Patoka Lake provide fun outdoor activities, hiking trails, and boating access. City life and cultural activities are found in the state’s larger cities such as Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. Indiana also hosts an annual state fair in autumn with carnival rides, livestock shows, and musical performances.
Indianapolis is the state capital and the largest city in the state. Located in the center of the state, the city has an extensive park system, a large zoo, and several performing arts venues. Additionally, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosts two major racing events annually: the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race, also known as the “Indy 500,” and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400.
Indiana real estate includes suburban developments with modern amenities and historic homes built in Italianate, Second Empire, Colonial Revival, and other traditional styles. Lake houses provide respite and retreat, while urban dwellings provide ample opportunities to enjoy city life.
